啟發自馬其頓的真實事件，導演以強烈的影像，幽默諷刺的口吻，透過精準的女性特寫，大膽批判馬其頓的性別不平等，衝撞保守的宗教戒律，更呈現出司法和媒體的種種亂象。特立獨行的佩圖尼亞，彷彿是上帝派來考驗那些陷入瘋狂的世人，縮影了整個荒謬社會，成為一則當代警世寓言。

In Stip, a small town in Macedonia, every January the local priest throws a wooden cross into the river and hundreds of men dive after it. Good fortune and prosperity are guaranteed to the man who retrieves it. This time, Petrunya manages to grab the cross before the others. Her competitors are furious – how dare a woman take part in their ritual? All hell breaks loose, but Petrunya holds her ground.

提歐娜史特拉格米特威斯卡，1974年生於馬其頓，於紐約修習電影，現居布魯塞爾。2008年以《我來自提圖夫》獲選馬其頓角逐奧斯卡外語片代表，並入選柏林、坎城等影展，作品持續以強勁批判力道，關注南斯拉夫解體後的馬其頓社會現況。

Teona Strugar Mitevska started as a child actor, trained as a painter and graphic designer and later attended the MFA programme in film at Tisch School of the Arts. Her films have been selected for Berlin, Rotterdam, Toronto and Cannes film festivals.
